Climate Ride, the night before: Carbo-loading and Songwriting

Team Sycamore at the Bistro in Grand Rapids
After joining other Climate Riders for a beer at Founders Brewery, Team Sycamore enjoyed a delicious pasta dinner at the Bistro in Grand Rapids. Carrie Newcomer, our folk-sherpa, is here to help deliver us and our gear to the starting point. As a bonus, she wrote Team Sycamore a song! We may have to call her up mid-ride to remind us of the melody, but here are the words:
(Imagine pedaling your bike while singing.)
We are the Sycamore Team.
We want a world that’s more green.
We are riding for sustainability.
Healing the Earth is not just a dream.
Robert is not as whacky as he seems.
-The team: Yes he is! HAHAHA!
-Bill: We’re Syc-a-more of his jokes.

Robert Meitus and Bill Brown
We’re from a very hilly town.
We ride upland and down.
Biking in Michigan’s gonna be a breeze.
We’re all riding to save the trees.
We’d like your donations please.
We are the Sycamore Team.
Jeff knows all of the routes.
Legene calms all of our doubts.
Marcia helps us pick up the pace.
Sheryl says slow down. It’s not a race.
Brian and Bill keep going with a smile on their face.
We are the Sycamore Team.
