#SycamoreRide Day Four – Mile Marker 300 – Chicago!

While we were given the option for a shorter route today, everyone chose to go the distance. Most even arrived early at 57th Street Beach where all the riders gathered to ride the last six miles together along the lakefront.

The line of 110 riders in matching jerseys made quite an impression on both riders and bystanders, some who cheered and thanked us.

Upon arrival at Northerly Island, Caeli Quinn, founder of Climate Ride, thanked the cyclists for making the first year of Climate Ride Midwest, their best first-year ride ever. Together, the 110 cyclists raised $400,000 in donations!

Brian is smiling as always, but inside he’s thinking, “90 miles today? Am I crazy?!”

You always had to be smiling on Climate Ride because you never knew when Kip the photographer was going to be at the top of a hill or around the bend ready to snap your picture!

We actually asked Kip to take this team photo–at our final lunch stop of the ride just 30 miles outside of Chicago.

There were lots of hugs and we-did-its upon arrival at Northerly Island in Chicago.

Bill rests and enjoys a spectacular view of the city while listening to closing comments.

Our view of the Chicago skyline got better and better as we rode down the lakefront path to our night’s lodging.
