#SycamoreRide Day Three – Mile Marker 209
Everyone is delighted with our incredible fortune. Yet another day of ideal weather, more scenic back roads, and inspiring companionship. During today’s ride, we passed within a half mile of Sarett Nature Center where Sheryl did an internship over 20 years ago. After a full evening with more speakers, prizes for fundraising, and an emotional slide show of the past few days, Bill shared a growler of local beer around our last campfire.

Morning in camp: Stretch, fill your water bottle, grab some snacks, check your tires, find your teammates, and hit the road.

Riders received directions to clip to our bikes each morning, which also let us know when to expect water and lunch stops. This didn’t prevent some of us from getting lost, but we never missed lunch.

Climate Riders wait for workers to clear the road after cutting down a bunch of trees. (Boo!) Bill Brown and Jeff White represent Bloomington in their IU and Upland jerseys. (Yay!)

It’s harvest time in Michigan. The pumpkin patches and apple orchards added to the scenery today.

An idyllic lunch spot in St. Joseph.

Marcia and Legene decide whether to take the long or short route — long wins!

Rewarded just a couple miles off the route with Greenbush Brewing Company.

Contentment.

Our camp was just a short walk from beautiful Lake Michigan and a refreshing swim.
