Orchids galore at two Sycamore preserves
Last week Vern Wilkins found 3-4 species of orchids at two Sycamore preserves. Here are two of them:
Slender Ladies’ Tresses (Spiranthes lacera) at Touch the Earth Natural Area near Columbus. As Vern says, he stopped counting at 8 plants—great habitat! “All but one of these was in relatively open areas (old field with scattered Red Cedar and other trees and shrubs).”
Autumn Coralroot (Corallorhiza odontorhiza) at The Laura Hare Nature Preserve at Downey Hill in Brown County
