November 2014: Cardno JFNew began restoring Sycamore’s newest piece of land—a 27 -acre addition  to Beanblossom Bottoms Nature Preserve in Monroe County—in memory of Bruce Behan, one of their employees who loved the wetlands and volunteered for Sycamore.   The project will restore the floodplain portion of the addition to bottomland hardwood forest.

This new acquisition expands Beanblossom Bottoms Nature Preserve for the first time since 2001. The property includes a quarter mile of Beanblossom Creek and a step bluff along the creek, in addition the the floodplain field being restored. Our thanks to Cardno JFNew and to Bill and Kathleen Oliver, from whom we purchased the land!
