Ready to start his Eagle Scout project, Alexander Like approached our Assistant Director, John Lawrence, about any needs at Sycamore’s preserves. Trevlac Bluffs Nature Preserve could use a new footbridge, we suggested. So Alexander met with John and an engineer to design and draw plans for a bridge!

Over the summer, Alexander secured the lumber and hardware, then convened a team of Scouts and parents to help construct the much-needed bridge. We’re thankful to Alexander, his father Lance, and all the other volunteers who were instrumental in helping build the bridge:

Seth Cantrell
Chris Dixon
William Dixon
Nathanial Dixon
Jay Leslie
Jacob Leslie
Lance Like
Noah Like
Thomas Like
Aaron Nunes
Bill Riggert
Charlie Webb
Wesley Webb

We all appreciate Black Lumber for providing lumber, hardware, and supplies at a substantial discount for this project.  Thanks also to Karen Like (Alexander’s mother) for her support, and to Bob Kessler (former Scout Master of Troop 100) and Ian Kessler (Eagle Scout of Troop 100) for their advice.
