Laura Hare Nature Preserve at the Confluence Acquired

Sycamore Land Trust has added a new 33-acre nature preserve to our Beanblossom Creek Bicentennial Conservation Area, thanks to a grant from the Laura Hare Charitable Trust and the support of Sycamore members.

The new Laura Hare Nature Preserve at the Confluence is located in the northwest corner of Monroe County, where Beanblossom Creek flows into the White River. It has 0.3 miles of frontage along Beanblossom Creek, and 0.35 miles along the White River. Along with protecting valuable floodplain and forest habitat, the property’s location at the entrance of Beanblossom Creek into the White River is an important feature and serves as an anchor to the entire project area.

With this latest acquisition, Sycamore now protects 1,576 acres in the Beanblossom Creek project area.
