Owling Hike
- Beanblossom Bottoms Nature Preserve
- Thursday, December 5, 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm
UPDATE: This event is full
As the sun sets and the last crow caws, the night comes to life. With a waxing moon at 72% full, we will navigate the renovated pathways of the Bottoms and tune our senses to the creatures of the night. As Jane Yolen writes in her book Owl Moon, “Sometimes there’s an owl and sometimes there isn’t.” But you never know what you might encounter when you immerse yourself in nature.
This takes place at Beanblossom Bottoms Nature Preserve, a 733-acre hardwood wetland preserve in Monroe County, protected forever by Sycamore Land Trust. The newly renovated, elevated boardwalk trail is accessible to those with many types of mobility needs. Click here for driving directions and more info, including accessibility specs.
RSVPs are required at the link below. The time will begin at dusk, so timing on here is approximate and will be updated as the date gets closer. On average, sunset on Dec 5 is approximately 5:23 pm.
Hikes are free for Sycamore members; suggested donation for non-members is $5 per person or $10 per family. You can become a Sycamore member today with a donation of $40 or more! Learn more and donate online at sycamorelandtrust.org/
