Group Hike: Laura Hare Nature Preserve at Downey Hill

Join Saige Sentell for a group hike at the Laura Hare Nature Preserve at Downey Hill, one of Brown County’s most scenic and biologically rich forests. This hike will take us along the full 5-mile loop trail as we explore upland ridges, deep ravines, and mesic hardwood forests. Along the way, we’ll pause frequently to observe and identify native plants, discuss forest ecology, and share our collective curiosity for the botanical diversity of this rugged landscape. From towering trees to understory wildflowers and late-summer surprises, this will be a leisurely-paced hike focused on learning and connection with nature.
