Seed Collection at the Carl Ziegler Wetlands

Join Education Director Saige Sentell for a special volunteer opportunity to learn how to ethically harvest and clean seeds for habitat restoration projects, targeting native prairie species such as swamp milkweed, hibiscus, giant ironweed, hollow Joe Pye, sweet Joe Pye (if found), and more. The seeds you collect will be used in educational programming throughout our 26-county service area and in future restoration projects at our preserves. Participants will be working off-trail in tall vegetation. Long sleeves, long pants, sturdy shoes, and sun protection are required. The Carl Ziegler Wetlands is not open to the public. Registration is required.
