October Big Day Hike at the Sam Shine Foundation Preserve

Come birding with Sycamore Land Trust on October Big Day, a global birding celebration that fuels migration research and conservation! Spend a fall morning exploring restored wetland and grassland habitats at our Sam Shine Foundation Preserve with Land Stewardship Assistant and expert birder Wyatt Downey, who has recorded over 130 bird species at this special preserve. Get a behind-the-scenes look at Sycamore’s habitat restoration projects that are attracting this remarkable diversity, and add your bird observations to a worldwide citizen science effort to help scientists track bird populations, migration patterns, and habitat needs. This preserve is not open to the public and registration is required. This event is hosted in partnership with Indiana Audubon Society and ILPA, a network of nonprofit land trusts working together to conserve land across the state.
