Great Backyard Bird Count at the Sam Shine Foundation Preserve

What’s a better way to spend Valentine’s Day than observing ducks in love? Join Sycamore Land Trust and Allisyn Gillet, State Ornithologist with the Indiana DNR, for the Great Backyard Bird Count, a global citizen science event supported by the Cornell Lab of Ornithology and the National Audubon Society. This year, Sycamore’s count will take place in the constructed wetlands at the Sam Shine Foundation Preserve, which have deep and shallow pools that attract and support a variety of wildlife. Since the wetland’s construction just a few years ago, this site has attracted over 150 waterfowl, marsh birds, and other species! Participants of all skill levels are welcomed and binoculars are available.
