Hike the Trust: Eagle Slough Natural Area

Explore one of southern Indiana’s unique wetland ecosystems at Eagle Slough Natural Area as part of our Hike the Trust series. A slough is a slow-moving wetland (a mix of backwater channels, open water, and bottomland forest) that supports diverse plants, filters water, and provides wildlife habitat. At Eagle Slough, we’ll hike the trail and visit observation decks to see wetland plants, listen for breeding birds, and learn about this unusual swamp-forest ecosystem and the towering bald cypress trees that still thrive here. ***This hike will start at 9am Central Time***
