Hoosier RiverWatch Trevlac Bluffs Survey

Join Sycamore Land Trust and the Indiana Geological and Water Survey to help monitor the health of local streams through Hoosier Riverwatch at Trevlac Bluffs Nature Preserve. Volunteers will wade into the stream to collect and identify aquatic macroinvertebrates and conduct chemical water quality tests, helping track seasonal changes in stream health at two protected properties along Beanblossom Creek. We’ll discuss how geology, land use, and forest cover influence water conditions. All monitoring supplies are provided through a grant from IDEM, and no prior experience is required. Participants should be comfortable standing and walking in shallow water. Join us to learn more about Hoosier Riverwatch and contribute valuable data that supports Indiana’s waterways.
