Fix-Stoelting Preserve
Beanblossom Creek flows along the south side of this preserve near the corner of Mt. Tabor and Bottom Roads in northwest Monroe County. The preserve’s name honors the family of the land donors, Julie and Kent Stoelting. “It’s a memorial for my father and a legacy for my son,” Julie said. This was the second property acquired as part of Sycamore’s Beanblossom Creek Bicentennial Conservation Area.
The preserve features a tall, forested knob overlooking Beanblossom Creek and an open field in the floodplain of the creek. Sycamore is working on a wetland restoration project in the field, thanks to funding from the Natural Resources Conservation Service’s Environmental Quality Incentive Program (EQIP) and Ducks Unlimited.
